I would have never of guessed when I started this website that I would be reviewing computer programs that only work on a cell phone. But I’ve been checking out yoga related iPhone/iTouch apps and there are several ones that are impressive enough to review and share with you. Look for our first iPhone/iTouch app review to be posted in the next couple of days, and come back for regular reviews from us on this emerging new media.

I am proud to announce and welcome Maya Koenig to the YogaBasics.com team. Maya is a recent recipient of our Yoga Scholarship program and will be sharing her journey of going through a yoga teacher training program, and her experiences of becoming a new yoga teacher in the world. Currently Maya is a Sophomore at Brandeis University in Massachusetts.

Just a quick update on our continuing work to transfer the premium yoga content to the new site. We have completed the transfer of the entire Yoga Sequences section and have made some improvements and refinements while transferring the contents over.
Please have patience with us as we launch our brand new site. Switching from our old site to the new one is already presenting a few problems, but we should have all the hiccups resolved soon.

I am proud to announce and welcome Kelly Golden to the YogaBasics.com team. Kelly will be helping out on our new Yoga Blog, as well as fielding messages in our Yoga Forums and responding to comments throughout the site. Kelly has been a student and practitioner of yoga for over a decade, and through the exploration of the physical and philosophical practices, yoga has touched every aspect of her life in a positive way. In her sharing of yoga, she strives to inspire in others the peace, well being, balance, harmony, and understanding that yoga has brought to her own life. Kelly graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1998 with a degree in Creative Writing. Following college she did freelance writing and editing before turning her focus more completely toward yoga and rearing a family. Kelly is also the facilitator of Neighborhood Yoga Teacher Training and is currently working toward her 500 hour Para Yoga teaching certification. Please welcome Kelly and look for her first Yoga Blog post in the next few days.
Welcome to the sneak preview of the new YogaBasics.com. This is a work in progress, but we feel most of the elements are in place to be able to begin to let our valued members a chance to check it out and have a look around.
We are working on adding more functionality as well as transferring over all of the content from the current website, so we apologize for some of the huge gaps in content. Please continue to access the current website for all of your information needs, but feel free to login and check out the new message board and to leave comments on any of the content that is currently live.

To encourage and support the development and training of great yoga teachers we have created a Yoga Scholarship program. If you need financial assistance for your 200+ hour yoga teacher training please apply for our scholarship. Partial scholarships are awarded twice a year to qualified candidates.
