Great Yoga Retreats by Kristin Rubesamen Print E-mail
Looking for an escape to your stress-filled hectic life?  Open up this beautiful coffee table book and be transported to magical and mystical yoga retreat centers from all over the globe.  This book covers a wide spectrum of yoga retreats, from small and rustic centers, to posh and pampered spas, and to large yoga ashrams.  The large color photos are artistically shot to show the beauty and ambiance of the setting, decor, food, land and architecture.  Each yoga center profile has a brief written overview giving the author’s impression of the center and includes the contact info as well as the retreat’s basic statistics (number of rooms, teachers, food, activities, etc.).   If the retreat’s yoga instructors were profiled as well it would have been the icing on the cake, as the retreat leader is just as important as the retreat location. But overall this is a wonderful book that is inspiring to both yoga teachers and students, and will make you day-dream of far away places to take a yoga retreat.

This book sounds really cool. I've been wanting to go on vacation for a couple of months now, but have been struggling with the destination. I really want to go somewhere where I can work on music, but be in a more inspirational surrounding. I was really wanting to land somewhere in Hawaii, but I may look over this book and see what places it has in it. Thanks for the article.

Yogic Wisdom
I have found that the greatest degree of inner tranquility comes from the development of love and compassion. The more we care for the happiness of others, the greater is our own sense of well-being. Cultivating a close, warmhearted feeling for others automatically puts the mind at ease. It is the ultimate source of success in life.
