Taranga by Prem Joshua Print E-mail
Multi-instrumentalist Prem Joshua has created an evocative yet high energy Cd in the essence of the Sanskrit word Taranga: colorful waves of joy and enthusiasm. Moving away from his more recent electronica-world fusion recordings, Prem Joshua’s focus is on natural, acoustic soundscapes using traditional Indian instruments and vocals. Joshua plays the sitar, flute, percussion, drums, bass, soprano sax and performs vocals on a few of the tracks. Several other talented musicians add tabla, dholak, kanjeera, cello, violin, guitar, keyboards and vocals to this elaborate recording. This upbeat Cd of funky Indian grooves and devotional mantras is delightful to listen to and would work great to motivate and uplift oneself during a dynamic yoga class.
