ankle injury
I'm recovering from an ankle injury I had this summer and I was wondering if there are any specific yoga poses I could practice that don't put too much weight or stress onto my left ankle? Any suggestions? I'm able to perform a down-dog to an up-dog without any discomfort but any warrior poses are uncomfortable.

Re:ankle injury
Hi. I sprained my ankle severely by stepping off a crooked stoop and landing sideways. To help heal my ankle, I practiced supported Virasana daily. I was stronger within a week's period of time to get back into standing postures; using my heel into a wall if necessary to help lift thru the inner arches. I hope this helps. Namaste

Re:ankle injury
If the warrior poses are too much for your ankle work with lunges first and also modify the warrior poses by having the back knee and foot down on the floor.
Namaste,

Yogic Wisdom
I have found that the greatest degree of inner tranquility comes from the development of love and compassion.  The more we care for the happiness of others, the greater is our own sense of well being. Cultivating a close warm hearted feeling for others automatically puts the mind at ease. It is the ultimate source of success in life.

Ahimsa, the yogic practice of non violence must be adhered to when engaging in the practice of hatha yoga. Respect your body's limitations and inner wisdom, if something feels wrong or dangerous, please do not do it.
