Yoga at home ?
Hi , my name is hard to pronounce so just call me Mane ;)
I've recently started taking interest in yogic meditation/pranayama but I can't really afford the time and money to go to yoga classes so I've been trying to learn some skills from the internet at home and my first question is is it possible for me to make any progress just by that ?

Re:Yoga at home ?
Yes. I started with a book on breathing and a DVD in my living room. I already notice a difference.

Re:Yoga at home ?
Hi Mane,

Yes, it is definitely possible to start yoga from home using books, websites and DVDs. That is actually one of the reasons why I created Yogabasics.com - to help people start a yoga practice at home!
Namaste,
Timothy

Re:Yoga at home ?
That's great but I'm interested in taking the practices seriously and going somewhere far with it so I'm not sure I mean I'd probably just start out with websites books etc. and then move on to yoga classes right ? But I'm wondering how far I can go with just dvd's websites and books, perhaps from this site as well?

Re:Yoga at home ?
I think you can go a good distance, but you will know when you need a live yoga instructor to take you where you want to go. The biggest help that a instructor will bring to beginners is helping with good alignment.
Namaste,
