yoga for those with disabilities
yoga for those with disabilities
I read about Matt Sanford on this site and his work with disabled persons. That's what I need. I have limited movement in my shoulder and some in my hip also such that it would prevent many traditional poses. I have done yoga in the past before the onset of these conditons. Can anyone offer advice on who where to go for instruction?

Re:yoga for those with disabilities
thanks for your post! I would suggest looking into instructors in your area that offer private sessions. Even just one session could help you learn modifications for the traditional poses that would help you understand your limitations better and how to grow with your practice, even in a group setting. I would also recommend a teacher trained in Iyengar, as they would have the best knowledge of alignment and use of props that could support your practice. Hope that helps. Good luck.
