I would like to know what the different palm positions mean, palms up, palms down. Also what is the difference between palms together in tree, palms apart, and palms together with index fingers pointing up? Thanks Elaine

Hi Elaine, I believe what you are referring to are different mudras specifically. Palms up tends to be more uplifiting, palms down more grounding. Palms together is anjali mudra. Anjali means prayer or offering. Palms together with index fingers pointing out is kpsana mudra, used for letting go or pouring out. I hope that helps! Yogic Wisdom |
Can you see the holiness in those things you take for granted--a paved road or a washing machine? If you concentrate on finding what is good in every situation, you will discover that your life will suddenly be filled with gratitude, a feeling that nurtures the soul.
