Palms
I would like to know what the different palm positions mean, palms up, palms down.
Also what is the difference between palms together in tree, palms apart, and palms together with index fingers pointing up?
Thanks Elaine

Re:Palms
Hi Elaine,

I believe what you are referring to are different mudras specifically. Palms up tends to be more uplifiting, palms down more grounding. Palms together is anjali mudra. Anjali means prayer or offering. Palms together with index fingers pointing out is kpsana mudra, used for letting go or pouring out.

I hope that helps! You can read more about mudras at: http://www.yogabasics.com/learn/mudras.html
