Teaching Yoga by Mark Stephens
Buddha's Brain by Rick HansonTeaching Yoga is a wonderful addition to the growing collection of books being created for yoga teachers.  And while this book is specifically targeted towards yoga instructors, a lot of the information is also be applicable for advanced yoga students (especially students who might be thinking of becoming teachers).  At 432 pages long, the book covers a wide spectrum of detailed information.

The book starts with an overview of yoga philosophy, history, yoga styles, and goes on to include instructions and guidelines for teaching asana, pranayama and meditation. The book also contains a good chunk of practical advice for yoga teachers: classroom setup, planning classes, verbal cuing, sequencing asanas, physical alignment and adjustments. Mark is an obviously passionate and informed yoga professional and his writing is friendly, clear, helpful and thorough.
