Yoga Sequencing by Mark Stephens
Yoga Sequencing by Mark Stephens Mark Stephens’s latest book on sequencing yoga postures is a well-written and very useful resource for yoga teachers and experienced home practitioners. The depth and length of this book is intimidating at first glance, but Stephens does a wonderful job clearly laying out detailed and relevant information on the philosophy, principles, and techniques of sequencing poses. Once you are familiar with the structure and format of the book, it becomes easy to browse through the layers of technical information.

The 67 illustrated yoga sequences are designed for specific levels, populations, and themes and are spread through 11 chapters, giving plenty of context and background information to help you further refine and modify these sequences. This book is filled with ideas and inspirations for designing effective yoga classes and teaching yoga poses. These will take some time to fully incorporate and reflect upon, but if you slowly digest these teachings you are certain to become a better yoga instructor.

I am thrilled about this book. It is so full of information that it will be one of my most-used resources as a teacher. Mark is coming to BC, Canada in June 2013 to lead a 4 day yoga retreat with us (South Okanagan Yoga Academy) and we are thrilled to learn in person some of the materials in his book.
