Yoga Poses for PMS Print E-mail
Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is a collection of a wide range of symptoms that occur between the time of ovulation and the beginning of the menstrual period. Use the endocrine regulating poses to rebalance the hormonal system and choose between the liver balancing poses or the spleen and kidney tonifying poses. If PMS is due to an excess Liver imbalance, symptoms will include: irritability, anxiety, anger, emotional instability, major mood swings, breast tenderness, and pain that is sharp in nature. If PMS is due to an deficient Spleen and/or Kidney, symptoms will include:  bloating, weight gain, water retention, fatigue, lack of energy, food cravings, nausea, backaches, and pain that is dull in nature.

Yogic Wisdom
In truth, it matters les what we do in practice than how we do it and why we do it. The same posture, the same sequence, the same meditation with a different intention takes on an entirely new meaning and will have entirely different outcomes.
Donna Farhi

Ahimsa, the yogic practice of non violence must be adhered to when engaging in the practice of hatha yoga. Respect your body's limitations and inner wisdom, if something feels wrong or dangerous, please do not do it.
Please consult your health care practitioner before starting a yoga, pranayama or other exercise program.
