motivation and focus
I am sure you have been asked this question a million times. For the past 8 months I have grown away from a regular yoga practice and meditation. My husband and I relocated and my routine was pretty much thrown out the window. I had been consistent before this for about 1 1/2 years and felt better mentally and physically (& Obviously Spiritually) than I ever had. I feel a strong desire to pick it back up like I stopped something that was supposed to be but my motivation is poor. Its almost like I want to inside but something is putting on a red light. Also when I try to meditate I feel sick to my stomach, my breath is high in my chest and I lack focus. I added this question to a different section before realizing where it needed to be posted. Thank you for any guidance.

Re:motivation and focus
If you haven't already please read: http://www.yogabasics.com/learn/the-13-obstacles-of-yoga.html

Obstacles in practicing yoga are common, but are not an excuse to not overcome them and continue with your practice. Obstacles are a part of the path of yoga. Examine closely as to what that "red light" is and find ways to either turn it green or find a different route.

Take small steps. Make a goal to just unroll your mat and sit on it for 1 minute each day. If you feel like doing some yoga then do some yoga, otherwise just sit or lay on the mat. If you feel like doing more, do more. If not do your 1 minute and move on.

Your symptoms with meditation sound a bit like anxiety. You may want to do some Nadi Sodhana Pranayama to calm yourself first: http://www.yogabasics.com/practice/nadi-sodhana-pranayama.html
Namaste,
Timothy
