well i dont know if this will be any help .but i want to try to tell you all how i learned third eye meditation first of all with your eyes closed your eyes pick up light through the eye lides, so it not so easy to see the light of the thrid eye. so my teaching told us to lie down in relatation pose and visaullize a flashlight seaching our bodies for tension .going down the right side of the body down the arms down the torso the lower back to legs up the left side the shouder untill your flashlight returns to the space between the eyes. it helped me fined the thrid eye and use it. after awile it was like the flashlight was on all the time.i think this ability can be atributed to somthing like muscle memory

Yogic Wisdom
Can you see the holiness in those things you take for granted--a paved road or a washing machine? If you concentrate on finding what is good in every situation, you will discover that your life will suddenly be filled with gratitude, a feeling that nurtures the soul.
Rabbi Harold Kushner

Ahimsa, the yogic practice of non violence must be adhered to when engaging in the practice of hatha yoga. Respect your body's limitations and inner wisdom, if something feels wrong or dangerous, please do not do it.
Please consult your health care practitioner before starting a yoga, pranayama or other exercise program.
