is there a sprit or a greater power that only the inlighted persons can feel and be apart of or is this dilution . is this to dangeruse for any of us to talk about in the western world. and if the six thousand years of yogies are right and there is .what about mainstream religion.I have had a conflit with this for all my years doing yoga. i feel the 3*/p ever since i began yoga as a teen .help me out Tim i know you know.

I'm not clear on what exactly you are asking. What I have come to believe is that there is one great divine presence that we all experience the different facets of, but we can only experience the fullness of the divine when we let go the limitations of thought, ego, religion and spirituality.

what i mean is the ome in the universe or is it in us or both.i feel like its both .i know about the steps to be aware of it. its changed me. i got friends that take the ome as a religion , but i am a believer in the Bible , and its a conflict to me to take their stand.I feel the ome and wonder is this an imagination and how do so many people feel the same thing.THIS is a hard thing to talk about, my friends just say to be clear and your fine.

well thanks for the answer,i do believe the ome brought me to you.and i am currently reading the Gurumukh yoga forum.2chronicles 16:9 for the eyes of the Lord range thoughout the earth to strenghten those whose hearts have fully committed to him. Bless you namaste

In yoga the belief is that the Divine can be accessed by going inwards by seeking the Atman or by going outwards and seeking the Brahman. The way it is explained is that Atman is a separated drop of the vast ocean of Brahman, but essentially they are the same thing.

I'm not sure how to rectify this teaching with what is taught in the bible. Perhaps the idea of the holy ghost is similar to the Atman?

I in fact think you are the wises man I could bring this queston to. I am at peace with my friend now after your first answer. My freind was telling me things that he learnd from Prem Rawat Maharaji concerning meditation.I just did not have enough knowelege. AS for the Bible there is a faith factor you have to have faith that God is and will do what his word the Bible says,the holy ghost is given to believers.unlike common people who find inward peace by the practice of meditation .But , I personaly think and feel that the Lord is at work in all peoples lives and his word of creation is part of everything ,this is were the confussion is ,it seems to all be parts of the same LORD .After talking with my freind he just says you and I are trying to find the square root to the infinte number. after trying to find the sot song i found it deep insides with days of trying and the best place for me to meditate is out in the woods.It feel like a river of peace flowing thourgh the universe. you have to be clear of thoughts and cares of the world.It gives a joy and energy,and makes me want to practice more.the whole meditation movment seems to be subjectaul. there is no substute for work.although i can feel the effects of the peace that seems to flow though the universe,my body has to be in a state were it receives and is able to since the flow.
