Re:3*/p the word (ome)
i found somthing i want to share, its from the swami Vaishnu"let us not always be blinded by reason, since intellect is below intuition, and often it fails.but let us not think that intuition,, the power of the higher mind, is only for a few gifted persons. every one of us possesses this, though only a few show the marked development of the higher mind in our evolution. the science of Yoga brings this message to every one of us, irrespective of our religion, caste, or nationality, that in man there is an immorrtal soul wherein lie all knowledge, all weath, all joy, and peace; and also a practical way to achieve, in a short time, the kingdom of heaven within us.to summerarize, the mind of man functions on three levels:the subconcious, instinctive, or automatic mind.it controls the involuntary functions of the body; it is the seat of lower emotions and animal instinct, and it also carries on the automatic functions of our daily activities.consious mind or intellect. intellect can control and guild the subconscious and is the basic requisite for the ego or "I" consciousness. reasoning is the function of the intellect.superconscious mind, or higher mind. the function of this mind, which is above intellect, is to achieve intuition and higher cosciousness. beyond these three levels of the mind is pure consciousness know as the sprite, soul, or self, which is formless, timeless, changesless, and infinite in its nature.Yoga plilosophy holds not only the answer to all mans problems, but also offers a scientific way to transcend his problems and suffering. moreover,Yoga philosophy does not quarrel with any religion or faith and can be practiced by anyone who is sincere and willing to search for truth.there is no vague doctrine involved.Even comparatively little effort will bring immense returns of knowledge, strength, and peace.

Re:3*/p the word (om)
here's more Sawmi Vishnu. Thus in OM (AUM) the first letter A stands for this reality, the self, as underlying and manifesting the illusory material world of the waking state. U represents the dream and the psychic or astral worlds, and the last letter,M, denotes the absolute self underlying the chaotic state and represents all the unknown, the deep sleep. Thus OM means the underlying reality behind the scenes ,the eternal truth, the indestructible self that one is, and when OM is chanted one must throw the body and mind into the ture self and melt into the real atman or pure consciousness. A yogi through pranayama and meditation on OM transcends one by one all the planes, where the soul is freed from all bondage and merges with the cosmic consciousness.Yogi philosophy declares that self-realization or God realization alone can bring real peace, joy, and liberation of the embodied souls.

Re:3*/p the word (om)
well if you have read all this like me you would say how does this help me? well i will tell you. the one princple i came away with was that there is a life force in our universe the yoga masters called it prana. i call it the word of creation,at any rate we all have the oppertunity to use it.this life force gives me peace and joy.now there is a simple princaple to this, meditation strengthens our hold on this life force;and if you use this in your every day life such as work or with the kids or any stressful situation you will find out it helps.now the yogis of old seem to have ommitted the fact they had to make a living by walking here or there and the every day struggles but its a fact the everyday is why we seek help through yoga. I had a teacher once that said everything was yoga and apply meditation to all things.I think thats what its all about ,a whole person doing his or her best with the flow of the universe. Namaste

Re:3*/p the word (om)
That's exactly the true definition of Yoga. To calm and quiet the stormy and agitated nature within us with practice, dedication and a surrendering to a higher power. This does not just happen on our sticky mats, that is the place to start the work, but the real work happens when confronted with difficulty in our day to day life. How we react is the true test of any Yoga or mediation practice.

Thanks for sharing.

Yogic Wisdom
I have found that the greatest degree of inner tranquility comes from the development of love and compassion. The more we care for the happiness of others, the greater is our own sense of well-being. Cultivating a close, warmhearted feeling for others automatically puts the mind at ease. It is the ultimate source of success in life.
