Namaste! Thank you so much for this topic. In many cities, yoga students or potential yoga students have an overwhelming array of yoga studios from which to choose. This is at least true here in Washington, DC.
Studios often distinguish themselves based on the style of yoga that they offer (Bikram, Baptist, Iyengar, Ashtanga, etc), but it seems that many more studios offer an array of yoga styles and do not fit one mold.
These "non-denominational" studios might also distinguish themselves based on such things as status in the Green Yoga Association/ecological practices, low class prices, cooperative ownership, nonprofit status or percent of profits that are donated, having a store or cafe in/associated with the studio, or more.
If Yoga Basics hosted not only a teacher finder, but a studio finder that would allow students to search for the above criterion (and more!), I think that would be a fantastic selection tool for yogis lucky enough to need to narrow down the options.
