is anyone else a vegetarian??
is anyone else a vegetarian??
if not one should definatley look into it. not as a commitment or anything, just to be educated about it. i think one would find it very interesting. its a very spiritual lifestyle choice.

Re:is anyone else a vegetarian??
you betcha! vegan, and very happy and healthy with this decision. i don't eat meat and animal products because of environmental reasons, compassion, and non-violence. i don't believe anyone is really practicing yoga unless they are concerned about these topics and committed to making positive change from the inner world of our minds and spirits to the outer worlds of our bodies and our planet.

besides, i eat a LOT and very healthy food. i love vegetarian cuisine!!

you know, I love meat but i'm trying to cut back. i think we could all eat it more sparingly. My reasons aren't really environmental I just think it makes sense. Did you know on the lewis and clark expedition they ate 9 pounds of meat per day!!!!

Yep. I am. Not a vegan (yet!), I still eat dairy and eggs (though I don't feel this is correct either). No animal flesh, however.

Did anyone else hear the story on NPR yesterday about the dairy farms and the detrimental effect they have on the environment? It was eye-opening.

Yogic Wisdom
I have found that the greatest degree of inner tranquility comes from the development of love and compassion. The more we care for the happiness of others, the greater is our own sense of well-being. Cultivating a close, warmhearted feeling for others automatically puts the mind at ease. It is the ultimate source of success in life.
The Dalai Lama

Ahimsa, the yogic practice of non violence must be adhered to when engaging in the practice of hatha yoga. Respect your body's limitations and inner wisdom, if something feels wrong or dangerous, please do not do it.
Please consult your health care practitioner before starting a yoga, pranayama or other exercise program.
