hi guys :)
I'm kind of new to yoga and I'm interested in the benefits of the practice. I find it easier to have a session in the morning but I have a hard time finding a quiet place in my house. Any advice? Also, any recommended DVD's that have helped anyone else? thanks.

Re:hi guys :)
It's best to claim a spot in your house that is just used for your yoga practice. This might involve moving around some furniture to make it happen, or you might be able to find a nice spot outside to do your practice. Your practice space should be clean, quiet and serene.

Check out the yoga DVDs we listed on this page: http://www.yogabasics.com/practice/what-you-will-need-to-start.html
Those are the best that we have found for beginners.
Namaste,
Timothy

Re:hi guys :)
Hey, I'm a newbie too! Timothy is totally right, it is best to have a little spot of your own. If it makes you feel better, you can spice it up with some exotic curtains hung up on room dividers and/or play some relaxing music. I don't know about you, but I like the singer Enya. Go to her website www.enya.com if you want to listen to her and her music.

Yogic Wisdom
The challenge, and the opportunity, that Yoga presents to us is the possibility of breaking the conditioning cycle. We do this by becoming aware of the depth and pervasiveness of our patterns and, at the same time, by working to change them. And true transformation begins at the moment that we become aware of our actual condition.

Ahimsa, the yogic practice of non violence must be adhered to when engaging in the practice of hatha yoga. Respect your body's limitations and inner wisdom, if something feels wrong or dangerous, please do not do it.
Please consult your health care practitioner before starting a yoga, pranayama or other exercise program.
