Hi my names Ian not sure if I have put this in the right part of the forum, so if I have I apologise. I am just starting out in Yoga, as in I am still looking for a class locally to me. I have seen lots of Yoga DVDs which means I will be able to do Yoga at home but I am unsure whether I should attempt to do Yoga by myself with out any instruction from a class. Just wondering if any you guys 'n' girls out there could help me out give me a bit of advice.

Hi Ian,
You can certainly start a yoga practice without going to a live class. DVDs, books and websites contain enough information to begin your practice, but you should eventually find a class to get feedback on your alignment from an experienced teacher. Having both a home practice and a yoga class practice is ideal to make the most progress and experience the most depth in yoga.

Yogic Wisdom |
Surrender appears easy because people imagine that, once they say with their lips ‘I surrender’ and put their burdens on their Lord, they can be free and do what they like. But the fact is that you can have no likes or dislikes after your surrender; your will should become completely non-existent, the Lord’s will taking its place.
