Yoga with scoliosis
I've recently decided to take up yoga, as high school is stressing me out a lot. I have scoliosis in my lower back, though, and I was wondering if there were any easy positions for a beginner that would temporarily relieve the tension and pain in my back.

Re:Yoga with scoliosis
Hey kai2010,

I would recommend reading our article "Yoga Therapy for Scoliosis" at: http://www.yogabasics.com/learn/-yoga-therapy-for-scoliosis.html

Probably the twisting poses would provide the best short term relief for the tension and pain in your back. Check out the list of twisting postures at: http://www.yogabasics.com/twists.html

Yogic Wisdom
Whether things get better or worse depends to a considerable extent on our own actions. The recommendation of a yoga practice follows the principle that through practice we can learn to stay present in every moment, and thereby achieve much that we were previously incapable of.
