| Am I fooling myself?
|
|
|
I've only been doing some yoga-based sessions and learning about yoga for 3-4 months.
I feel like I'm already being transformed.
I feel healthier than I've been in years and years. In body, mind and spirit.
I feel that I'm already reaching some level of inner peace.
Yesterday, I mentioned the inner peace to someone and she basically told me that it's way too soon, I don't really even know what it is yet, and that I'm just pretending that I feel it.
Input welcome.

Do you trust her experience more than your own? It seems that the only real difference between the two of you is one of degree and of personal perception. Why would it not be o.k. to begin feeling transformed at your present stage?

Hi Donna,
There is no set time for feeling transformation and inner peace after taking up yoga. It can begin to happen after the first class, or like your friend it can take much much longer. But we can agree that yoga has the power to transform your life and to create inner peace, so it really depends on the individual person as to when these effects are felt.
Most importantly, listen to yourself and do what feels right for you on this new path of yoga.
