nausa during yoga
Hi All - I am a beginner and this has happened twice now. I do my yoga in the morning and then eat before work. This morning, and one other previous morning, I did about 10min of practise and then felt sick, hungry sick. Kind of light headed like I need to eat. I have been changing my diet also more veg and protiens at night less starch. I wake up really hungry most mornings but I don't feel nausa like this morning. I stopped and ate and now am fine??
Any thoughts would be appriciated (no I could not be prego :)
Thanks and
Namaste

Re:nausa during yoga
Hi Nasula,

Sounds like you may be experiencing bouts of low blood sugar that become more pronounced in your yoga practice. Try drinking a glass of juice before you start your yoga practice in the mornings and see if that helps.

Otherwise you did the right thing and listened to your body. Continue to take care of yourself, stopping your practice if necessary to eat. You may also want to consider adding some complex carbs at night to help keep your blood sugar levels stable until the morning.
Namaste,
Timothy

Re:nausa during yoga
PERFECT!!

When I woke up this a.m. I drank a glass of pineapple juice. I made it through the whole practice with out even feeling hungry. That was the perfect answer.
One less thing to complain about, LOL

I wish juice could loosen up my tight muscles ;)
