Tension
In every pose, I do breathe in and breathe out and I also do the fluid transitions in between poses. But then I wonder if I should really be tensed and worked up for those poses which require my muscles to flex. For example, in the One Leg Boat pose should I simply just lift my arms and leg or put tension to it?

I'm a newbie and there aren't any yoga schools or centers here in city.

Re:Tension
Hi Yogagia,

This is a really nice core strengthener and one of my favorite's as an alternative to Navasana (boat pose). Here's some guided instruction for you: http://www.yogabasics.com/core-strengthening-poses/one-leg-boat.html

Re:Tension
Hi Yogagia,

You should only be contracting the muscles that you need to do the pose, the rest of the body should be relaxed. You can choose how much effort you want to engage in the poses, but remember "no pain, no gain" does NOT apply to yoga!
Namaste,
Timothy
