spondylolisthesis-help
I have spondylolisthesis in my lower lumbar. Does anyone know of a good yoga dvd to help with this? I am new at yoga and would like to do it at home.

Re:spondylolisthesis-help
I have not seen any DVDs that have targeted specific types of back conditions. I would suggest you check out our Yoga Therapy Back Pain page at: http://www.yogabasics.com/learn/back-pain.html

You will see a link to poses that are helpful for Spondylolisthesis: http://www.yogabasics.com/learn/yoga-poses-for-spondylolisthesis.html

Re:spondylolisthesis-help
I had Grade 2 spondylolisthesis (Severe) and was able to reduce it to Grade I (Mild) with the systematic practice of Asana recommended by an experienced Iyengar Doctor (MD).
let me know if you want to chat.
best,
david

Re:spondylolisthesis-help
Hello David,

I have recently discovered that I have spondylolisthesis and I would love an opportunity to learn from your experience. I am a yoga teacher and studio owner. I feel a little paralyzed by it and am doing all I can to learn how to heal, what to do, what not to do etc. I am especially interested in the Iyengar poses you used and how you dealt with the emotional side of the ailment. Thanks you in advance for your help.

Blessings and peace,
Debbie

Re:spondylolisthesis-help
Hi David,

I've recently just been diagnosed with this as well, and am worried about my yoga practice, as well as feeling really bummed out about my physical limitations. Any advice you can offer would be so much appreciated.

Re:spondylolisthesis-help
hiii dear,

would like to share my views to you. any physical illness starts due to the imbalance in our body. you would not be able to see this but it start eventually to every one. the very basic change you may do in your day to day life

1. have you ever notice a new born baby. how a baby breath. we don't teach a baby to breath it learns automatically. it learns from nature.
try to breath like baby because a baby is close to nature
when inhale your stomach comes out when exhale our stomach goes in. and breath as slow as possible.

2. try to make your back(spine chord) straight. because it is said that the energy flow through our spine to the whole body parts if our spine is not straight the it breaks the flow of energy.

thank you for reading this and god bless everyone.
your friend
Piyali
