In honor of February, the month of love, we’ve found six yoga videos that will gently help you cultivate nurturing and loving feelings for yourself. We can all use a little more self-care and self-love, after all. These free videos include plenty of mantras as well as asanas that promote gentle healing and deep release.
Think poses like lizard, reclined pigeon, and king pigeon to get deep into your hip flexors and psoas muscle; eagle arms and thread the needle for neck and shoulders; and lots of good breathwork. With just a few weeks of winter left before the weather starts to warm up for spring, now is the perfect time to invest in yourself, and trying one of our February video picks is the perfect way to do it.
Yoga for Neck, Shoulders, & Upper Back by Yoga with Adriene
This first video is a bite-sized practice perfect for those with busy schedules. At just ten minutes, it’s the ideal length for an early morning or late night practice…or maybe just for when you need a little pick-me-up on a break at work. It incorporates breathwork which will be especially helpful for anyone who struggles to arrive in the moment and stay present with themselves.
Yin Yoga for an Uplifting Day by Yoga Ranger Studio
Do you have trouble motivating yourself to get out of bed, or are you struggling with a serious case of the winter blues? If so, this 25-minute yoga video might be just what you need. This soothing practice emphasizes the fourth chakra with heart openers that will put your mind and body just where they need to be to have a warmer, brighter day.
Yin Yoga for Self-Love and Healing by Yoga with Kassandra
This yummy 30-minute yin practice has all the good stuff we need more of: chest, heart, and throat openers, and tension relief for the upper back and hips. The practice is accompanied by supportive affirmations and relaxing music that will help you come back to yourself. Props are optional, but a block might be helpful, especially for tight hips.
Back Pain & Sciatica Relief by Boho Beautiful
If you’ve ever pushed your spine or back a little too hard, this video is for you. Increasing flexibility is great, but not if it comes at the cost of lower back or hamstring strain. This inspiring 30-minute practice is designed to stimulate love and self-care and improve mobility. If you have struggled with major back pain or herniation in the spine, this is a great way to ease some of the pain while still being gentle to a tender area of your body.
Simply Yoga Asana by FreeYoga
Couldn’t our hip flexors always use a little more love? They accumulate so much tension throughout the day, especially in those of us who spend the majority of the day sitting. The poses in this 35-minute practice—like lizard, crescent, and pyramid—really zero in on busting up some of that tension. We think this practice would be the perfect way to reward yourself with some TLC as you wrap up a long week.
Total Body Flow for Self Love by Anita Goa
If you have a little more time than usual to dedicate to your practice, this full-body intermediate flow, clocking in at 90 minutes, is for you. Anita offers a long warm-up to keep your muscles safe, as well as plenty of modifications throughout the practice for sensitive knees and wrists. This practice also includes several repeating mantras which are sure to leave you feeling calmer, more centered, and full of love.
Happy practicing, yogis! What are your favorites from this month’s roundup? Did we miss any must-try practice? Let us know in the comments section. We’d love to hear from you.
