Mantras For Life by Deva Premal and Miten

Mantras For Life by Deva Premal and Miten

Mantras For Life is the third in a series of japa mantra albums from chant icons Deva Premal and Miten. This 68-minute album is a beautiful, hypnotic and powerful tool for meditation and healing through simple mantra repetition accompanied with minimal music instrumentation. Eight Sanskrit and Tibetan mantras are chanted the traditional 108 times while the longer opening and closing mantras are only chanted a few times. Each mantra invokes a specific energy, as translated and explained in the included CD booklet, and is accompanied by sparse yet deeply calming and absorbing instrumentation of the tampura, guitar, bansuri flute, cello, harmonium, tabla, bass guitar and percussion.

The tracks on the album can be used as tranquil background music for yoga, meditation, massage and healing work, or you can chant along using the tracks as a guide to practice traditional mantra meditation. I have found this album to be incredibly addictive to listen to, and find it has a remarkable ability to empty all thoughts from my mind.
