Be Inspired To Pick Up and Jump Back!

Published on
March 31, 2014

In this beautifully produced video, ashtanga yoga practitioner Paige Warthen demos and discusses how to do the “picking up and jumping back” transition. I’m always amazed at how simple and easy this looks, but when I try it, I fumble and always get stuck between my arms. Warthen describes her own personal experience on mastering this transition and explains several stages to “go in the right direction,” as well as what to avoid.

I hope to someday be able to jump back and forward from seated to chaturanga and from down dog to seated–mostly because it looks like fun, but also because these are the foundational transitions to build upon for even more inspirational moves.
