Yoga Poses for Abdominal Cramps Print E-mail
Abdominal cramps can be the abdominal muscles cramping and spasming or it can be the stomach or intestinal organs strongly contracting. Side bending poses will activate the Liver, Gall Bladder and Stomach energy channels to move any stuck energy in the abdomen. Abdominal opening poses will stretch the abdominal muscles and organs so take these poses slowly and gently. If the cramps are mild, abdominal massaging poses will circulate the energy in the abdomen and soothe the internal organs.

Yogic Wisdom
Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers, but to be fearless in facing them. Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain, but for the heart to conquer it. Let me not crave in anxious fear to be saved, but hope for the patience to win my freedom.
Rabindranath Tagore

Ahimsa, the yogic practice of non violence must be adhered to when engaging in the practice of hatha yoga. Respect your body's limitations and inner wisdom, if something feels wrong or dangerous, please do not do it.
Please consult your health care practitioner before starting a yoga, pranayama or other exercise program.
